Wesley Alford

Wesley is a Research Scientist who specializes in Data Analysis.
Wesley received his BS in Psychology from Indiana University. As an undergraduate he worked in the lab of John Beggs, analyzing functional connectivity in the rat brain. He then received an MS in Neuroscience from Brandeis University. He conducted his graduate research in the lab of Stephen Van Hooser, where he modeled the development of the ferret visual cortex. Wesley then worked as a Data Scientist in both government and the private sector. He worked at the US Department of Transportation, where he developed models to enhance the safety of all modes of transportation. As a data scientist at Civis Analytics, he worked on survey design and modeling for progressive political campaigns and nonprofit organizations. In this role, he analyzed randomized survey control trials to create better estimates of survey error. Wesley joined the Younger lab in 2023.
